Apple Silicon or Intel, and what happens on a new Mac.
Setcraft comes in two downloads. Macs have used two different kinds of processor over the years, and an app has to be built for the one you have.
Open the Apple menu in the top left corner and choose About This Mac. Look for the line naming the chip or processor.
The download page checks for you and highlights the right one, so most people never have to think about this. It matters when you are saving the file to install on a different Mac, or passing it to a bandmate.
Nothing breaks. The app will simply refuse to open, and macOS may not explain why. Download the other one and it will work. You can throw the first one away.
Download the version that matches the new Mac, then bring your library across the way you always would, with Backup and Restore. Your license moves too: if it says it is already in use, use Deactivate all other computers on the Account & License tab, then activate on the new machine.
This comes up most when replacing an older Intel Mac with a new one. The new Mac takes the Apple Silicon download even though the old one took Intel. Same app, same license, same setlists.
